Get ready for a spooktacular event! Our K-5 students will be showing off their creativity in their favorite costumes. We invite you to attend and share in the excitement. Join us in the Event Center on October 31 at 8:45.🎃👻

The favorite part of my day was…
Being challenged by Mrs. Fields’ 2nd grade class for the great Spooky Water Drinking Challenge…meeting individually with teachers to discuss instruction & provide feedback…& attending the basketball coaches meeting to prep to coach middle school girls basketball. So excited to team up with Kalie, Kennedy, & Joe to strengthen the basketball program!

The favorite part of my day was…
Being in our 3rd grade classroom as Ms. Farrens led students through a history text, asking them reading comprehension & application questions such as “what are some rights you have as students here at school?”
The first two answers were my favorite.
“We have a right to learn!” &
“We have a right to be safe.”
As is often the case, our youngest students have the simplest & purest of priorities clear & straight & always remind us of what’s most important.
AND seeing this amazing video of two of our staff enjoying our morning announcement song over the intercom!

The favorite part of my day was…
Realizing we have 12 juniors & seniors taking 18 college courses…seeing our SKORE after school program getting going for the year…& laughing essentially nonstop this evening for 20minutes as I listened to Mrs. Martin, Miss Tionie, & Miss Tami plan some hilarious staff activities coming up over the next few months.

The favorite part of my day was…
Seeing another great product of the leadership class, for Red Ribbon week…
Being asked to observe by a teacher who is implementing a few strategies we had discussed in our most recent 1:1 debrief. My reply to them, “…of course I’ll be there… & I appreciate your growth mindset as a professional. That is what will take us from good to great.”
And meeting with a few students individually to acknowledge their incredible growth in their academic performance from last year to this year. The genuine pride on their faces was a prime example of why educators become educators…when you can see the transfer of belief…where it goes from the educator working to instill that sense of self belief in the student to the student ACTUALLY believing in themselves…THAT is where the real payoff lies, in those moments.

Getting pictures from Ms. Farrens from the 3rd grade field trip to the Fossil beds-the very SAME fossil beds I dug in as a 3rd grade student when I lived in Fossil. Such great learning experiences & memories all of these field trips are creating for our students…& being reminded regularly that we have a staff who know how to have fun & make work enjoyable everyday. Any guesses on who’s hiding behind? 😆

The favorite part of my day was…
Seeing our high school leaders setting such great examples for our youngest. We have some of the best future leaders in our own building & the younger grades benefit extra by those who are TAs (Teacher Assistants).
