The favorite part of my day was… Doing our initial foundational identity work with our staff this afternoon. This was a critical first step that will lead to our strategic planning process in the coming months…looking forward to the next steps that will involve all students, followed by families & community members! The favorite part of my day was… Seeing the community involvement in our students’ education…from our high school leadership students to our wonderful to our Scholars volunteers reading with our littles…& not only do we have Mrs. Mobley as our artist in residence, but today Mr. Mark Mobley joined Mr. Gronberg’s guitar class as a guest musician! We are fortunate to have a community of folks who are so invested in our young ones’ futures & successes. Superintendent Fall #EveryKidEveryDay100WhateverItTakes

The favorite part of my day was… Getting these pictures from staff showing me our awesome local artists bringing their expertise to teach our elementary students…a big thank you to Mrs. Mobley & Mrs. Casper…& then wondering alongside Mr. Swenson, which of these paintings are of him :) Superintendent Fall #EveryKidEveryDay100WhateverItTakes

The favorite part of my day was… Both bookends…seeing the Times Journal this morning at the Husky Market…& being a part of the FFA Chapter Officer interview process this evening…Listening to the interviewees, & then being present for the debrief & discussion afterwards with Violet, Henry, Sawyer & Mr. Swenson…These 3 students’ unquestionable commitment to the future & good of the chapter is something to be acknowledged. And when they saw me taking a picture & asked if that meant they were going to be the favorite part of the day…Their excitement about that brought a huge smile to my face. The Sherman County School District Board of Directors will hold a Regular Board Meeting on Monday, April 8, 2024 in the Sherman County Public/School Library Program Room. There will be an executive session held pursuant to ORS 192.660(2)(b) and ORS 192.660(2)(i) at 6:00 p.m. followed by the regular meeting. Please find the agenda under the school board section of the website.

SKORE spring session is starting back up next week, April 8. Please log on to FamilyID to register for the new session and get your K-5 kids involved in Physical Activities, Art, STEAM, and Chess. It will be lots of fun!

📣 Reminder! 📣 We have a special schedule to accommodate parent-teacher conferences. On Thursday, students in grades K-5, will have a half day of school with conferences scheduled in the afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, students in grades 6-12 will have a full day of regular classes. Then on Friday, there will be no school for students in grades K-5 due to conferences scheduled in the morning. However, students in grades 6-12 will have a half day of school. Don't forget to drop by the elementary wing to check out the Book Fair! It's a fantastic opportunity to find some great reads. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at conferences and the Book Fair!

The favorite part of my day was… Listening to Mr. Stuart tell me how excited the students are to use their husky tickets to buy the coveted wood prints that he has made at least once a year… & seeing the finished product from the high school English classes’ book museum event…it was a great way to end a very sunny & beautiful spring day at Sherman! The favorite part of my day was… Seeing our Conduct of Chapter Meeting team compete at the FFA State Convention! They represented Sherman County well as 1 of only 8 teams competing to go to nationals. Congrats to Henry Poirier for receiving his state degree & good luck to Sawyer as he is in the running for State Officer! Superintendent Fall #EveryKidEveryDay100WhateverItTakes
