The favorite part of my day was… Seeing K-12students’ pictures on display who were recognized last month. We have lots of older students setting great examples for our younger grades. Principal Fall #EveryKid.EveryDay.100%.

Sherman County School Community...This message is regarding December 6th, 2022. After reevaluating road conditions again this morning, Sherman County School will be on a 2-Hour Delay to allow more travel time to school for students, staff, and parents. Buses will start their routes two hours later than normal. We apologize for the inconveniences that school delays and closures cause, but we want to ensure the safety of our students, staff and school community. Thank you and drive safe!

Good morning Sherman County School Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff…This is an updated message for December 5, 2022. As always, our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. After assessing auxiliary road conditions this morning and conferring with transportation and local road officials, Sherman County School will be closed today. All after school activities, games and practices have been cancelled. As a reminder, this school closure day automatically turns Friday, December 9th into a full day Friday schedule. Thank you for your understanding and please be safe!

Sherman County School Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff… This is a message regarding Monday, December 5, 2022. Sherman County School will be on a two hour delay tomorrow, December 5, 2022 to allow more time to assess road conditions in the County and for students, parents, staff and busses to travel safe to school during day light hours. It was our goal to share this information this evening to give everyone the opportunity to prepare in advance for tomorrow. We will continue to closely monitor the weather, temperatures, and road conditions through the evening and early morning. Thank you!

The favorite part of my day was… Seeing a 7th grade student sitting with a kindergarten student this morning at breakfast & offering to help him open his cereal when he was having a hard time doing so. Kindness matters, & hits differently when it’s from student to student & completely unprovoked & unprompted. Principal Fall #EveryKid.EveryDay.100%.

The favorite part of my day was… Our K-6 awards assembly today. Led so well by our K-6 student council, our future leaders of the school. And having the high school leadership students as visitors in the audience was great for our younger students to see. Principal Fall #EveryKid.EveryDay.100%.

Sherman County School Community: First, our hearts go out to those that have been impacted by the fire in Grass Valley yesterday. We also want to thank all first responders and the American National Red Cross for their rapid response. Our elementary gymnasium was used as a facility shelter last night for a group of Grass Valley community members. We still have a small assembly of under fifteen this morning. This will have minimal impact on our school functions today. All school activities and instruction will continue as regularly scheduled. We appreciate your understanding as we gladly support the citizens of Grass Valley!

The favorite part of my day was… Our afternoon with staff. Providing lunch to our K-6 teachers during their 2-hour curriculum training…Working with staff in our PBIS & Leadership team meetings…shooting hoops with a teammate at the end of a long week & watching staff pick up their frozen turkeys for the holidays. Working on our systems & goals while strengthening our teamwork and knowing how staff are supporting each other reminds me how as a whole we are greater than the sum of our parts. And that’s one of many reasons I’m proud to be where I am here in Sherman County. Principal Fall #EveryKid.EveryDay.100%.
